All About HAIR EXTENSIONS!

Hair extensions are fun! They can be used to make hair longer, thicker looking or simply to add a pop of color to your own hair!

 Types of Hair
Remy- Remy should be the ONLY hair you purchase. It's the most natural looking & feeling and they last the longest so you get more for your money. Alot of companies lie and write on the packaging "100% human hair" and charge alot for it. You MUST make sure that its 100% REMY hair. Remy means that all of the cuticles are facing in the same direction. Just like OUR natural hair.

Synthetic- Synthetic hair is fake hair. This hair looks & feels fake. Alot of the time heat can NOT be applied to synthetic hair because it WILL MELT. Some companies use a certain type of synthetic hair that you can put heat on. I will not recommend this type of hair tho.

Yaki- Is a courser cheaper textured hair. It is hair that comes from a yack which is an animal. This hair does not last very long and the cuticles are not facing in the same direction.

NON remy hair means the cuticles are not facing in the same direction and as a result you do pay a cheaper price but they do not last you as long. They get ratty real quick. When purchasing extensions make sure you ask a lot of questions and do a ton of research first. I would recommend buying them in person so you can feel them first.

I do NOT own the rights to any of these extension photos. I found them on google to show you examples.

Fusion Hair Extensions

These extensions are individual strands that are connected to your own hair by the method of a keratin tip. A keratin tip is basically glue made out of keratin which is supposed to be safer for your hair than regular hair glue. These strands are connected to your hair by carefully picking your strands of hair into a special tool & using a special heat gun to connect the fusion extension to your hair. These extensions are undetectable and are most comfortable feeling. You almost forget that they’re in your hair!

Who I recommend these extensions for?

Fusions I recommend for people with strong thick strands of hair. This technique doesn’t work well with fine damaged hair. ( trust me from experience I've done these) I loved them but I would recommend micro links for people with finer hair.

Micro Link Extensions:

This technique is also an individual strand technique. The process is similar to the fusion but in this case there is NO GLUE, NO HEAT! The hair is inserted into a little micro bead and the extension is attached to your hair by  pulling the hair through the bead & clamping it into the little bead which holds the extension in place. This is also another natural looking technique. It is also safer than the glue technique on fine & thinner hair.

With both Fusion & Micro links we can create the look of highlights AND lowlights to match your natural hair color, texture OR add some color just for fun!

Caring for these types of extensions

These individual strands are high maintenance. They must be washed and conditioned with care. These extensions can last up to 3-4 months depending on how you take care of them.  They are 100% human hair and are matched identically to your hair color. They also come in a variety of colors like highlights, Ombre, etc. These are also great if you don’t want to color your hair and you want to add some colors with out adding excess color damage to your beautiful hair. The hair can last you up to a year if handled properly. They can be used again!

Feeling FUNKY!? Want to add some crazy colored strands to your own hair with out the damage? Or even some blonde or black pieces for some pop to your dull looking hair? The individual strands of color come in EVERY color you can imagine here’s an example

  • Blue
  • Red
  • White
  • Pink
  • Purple
  • Blonde
  • Black
  • Brown

I Charge $5.00 a strand for the individual colors.

So hurry up inquire about making an appointment! The best deal you’ll find anywhere! I use 100% human hair that can be washed, curled  & ironed.

Bead In Tracks

Bead in tracks are basically a weft of hair beaded into your hair with the same technique as the micro links. There are a couple of ways to do this technique. Some wefts already come with beads attached to the weft part. The other technique is the weft is placed against the section of your hair and your hair & the extension hair is pulled through the bead and the bead is clamped shut with the tool. This is what helps hold the extension to your hair. This will last you about 1 month - 2 months If the bead loosens up it can easily be tightened back up. The process time of this look is fairly quick it could be done in about an hour depending on the speed of the person applying them. If you purchase good quality hair the hair will last you a very long time. They are reusable for as long as the hair lasts.

Tape In Tracks

Also known as "seamless extensions" They look and feel just like your own because they lay flat on the hair. They have a special safe glue attached to the weft of the hair which safely adheres to your own hair with out the use of tools, beads, clips or chemicals.

This technique I believe is fairly new. Its also a thin weft of hair with glue already attached to the back of it. This technique is done by taking a section of your hair and placing one tape in weft underneath the section and another on top of that section and the glue on the tracks hold everything together. This one will feel more natural than the beaded weft technique because its laying flat on the hair. With proper installation these extensions could last up to 8 weeks.

Glue in Tracks

Are wefts of hair that you apply glue to manually. You section your hair & apply these to the hair itself. This method is NOT recommended for weak fine hair.

Sew In Extensions

The sew in technique also known as a "weave" is used for course non oily hair. If your hair is real fine & oily this technique could be very damaging & wont last you more than a week. This technique is done by braiding corn rows into your own hair and the weft of the extension is sewn into the braid into your hair. If you have course non oily hair this technique will last you 3-4 weeks with proper care. If you purchase good hair the extensions will last you a long time. This could take up to 3 hours to apply depending on the speed of the person doing them.

This is what a regular weft bundle looks like & the glue is applied to this after it is cut to the sections of the hair you will be applying it too.

Who are these for & Caring for these Types of extensions:
( bead in, tape in, sew in, glue in)

These types of extensions aren't as comfortable as the individual extensions. You can not put your hair in a high pony tail. Caring for them is just as important as caring for the others. They must be brushed and conditioned. Excess heat on any type of hair extension will damage them faster and they wont last as long. All types of extensions should be styled on low heat and always use heat protection products. Washing your hair with these extensions will be tricky at first just like all the others but you will get the hang of it. The maintenance for these aren't as high as the fusion and micro links. So this technique is good for people who don't have a lot of patience lol.
Clip In Extensions

The safest & easiest method out there! These extensions are the ones you can do yourself at home. all you have to do is go to a store where they sell extensions and purchase clip in extensions. These are wefts that have clips attached to them so you can just clip them in and take them in whenever you like. DO NOT leave these extensions in over night or sleep with them. It can result in serious damage to your hair. These extensions could last you a very long time as well with proper care. You can also buy a bundle of hair & sew in clips yourself with special thread & needle.

This is what the bundle looks like if you wanted to sew clips on yourself. It just has to be cut & measured to the section of hair that you want to clip it too & you just sew the clips onto it.
