NAKED! by Urban Decay
MY NEWEST FAVORITES! I got all 3 naked pallets by urban decay for Christmas and I am in LOVE. The colors are so VIBRANT and the quality of the makeup is great. I use all 3 of these pallets everyday now. These are great for everyday looks you can do a simple look or a dramatic look. They are also good for bridal parties and stuff like that. I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS ONE, ITS WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! The two bigger kits naked & naked 2 come with a brush each and one comes with a mini sample of the primer potion and the other comes with a mini lip plumping lip gloss. I love urban decay products. They never disappoint me. =)
Keratin Treatments!
Keratin treatments now are a very trendy process. Everyone is getting this done from celebrity's to normal everyday people who just want perfect hair! So lets start from the beginning...
What is a Keratin treatment and how will it benefit me?
Keratin is what your hair is made up of it is protein. Putting this back into your hair strengthens the hair making it healthier and more manageable. The formaldehyde in the product is what helps seal the keratin in and make the hair straight. Keratin treatments do not completely straighten the hair like a relaxer would. The keratin treatment is not a permanent solution it will last you up to 2-3 months depending on how often you wash your hair. The treatment will take out most of your frizz and cut down styling time 40-60%. If it is humid and rainy out your hair will stay straight it will NOT frizz up at all.
What is the process like?
Typically most keratin treatments are done the same way, each product line has their own set of directions but it always starts off with a couple of clarifying shampoos first to get the hair really clean and to make sure the cuticle of the hair is wide open so that the keratin really penetrates the cuticle. Than the product is applied and usually sits for 30 mins or so and than it in blow dried and flat ironed at the correct temperature that your hair can handle to seal in the product. With the Keratin treatment you can not wash your hair for 3 days place it in a ponytail, or do anything that can leave a dent in the hair. If this does happen you must flat iron the hair immediately before it is shampooed. Once you wash the hair it is trained to stay the way it was before you washed it.
How long is this process?
Depending on your hair type and how much hair you have it can take anywhere from 2-4 hours
Shampoo: You must ALWAYS use sulfate free shampoos once you have the keratin to help maintain the treatment and help it last as long as possible. My favorites that I have tried are the Awapuhi wild ginger shampoo & conditioner by Paul Mitchell and Keratin Complex by Coopla. The conditioner especially makes my HAIR super soft and I don't even have a keratin treatment in my hair I just love how it makes my hair feel!
Formaldehyde: Formaldehyde is a chemical found in any and every Keratin product. Avoid products that say "formaldehyde free" because it is false advertisement. During treatment process, you should be in a well ventilated area only because like all chemicals, it could have an effect on your respiration. It Doesn't affect the client as much as it affects the stylist.
Here is a photo of my friend Niro and the Keratin treatment I did on her unruly hair before she went on a vacation to Spain. She was amazed with the results and told me she didn't have to pick up the blow dryer on her whole trip. She was SUPER happy with the results!
