Favorite Paul Mitchell Hair products!

For those of you who don't know I am a Paul Mitchell girl. When it comes  to hair and styling you ALWAYS want to use PRODUCT! Especially if you want to protect your hair from styling damage. Today the products I will be reviewing will be Shampoo, Conditioner & Styling products.

Choosing the right shampoo & conditioner can be very tricky! You want to choose a product that is going to suite your hair type and provide you with the right nutrients that you need. Alot of these products you find in your everyday drug store are completely damaging and weighing down your  hair. For instance Pantene Pro-V. Yes, those commercials can be very convincing and the first few times you use these products your hair feels absolutely AMAZING!! But the truth is after a week or even a month of using this product you start to notice your hair being weighed down & getting oilier faster..... Well the culprit is everytime you use these products they are coating  your hair with heavy silicone's & wax which is weighing  your beautiful hair down. The only way to fix this problem is to use a clarifying shampoo. Now even if you don't use pantene pro v.. Well its a good idea to use a clarifying shampoo once a week ANYWAY to get all that product build up and oil from everyday life that normal shampoo just simply isn't cleaning your hair.  So here goes my favorite shampoo & product list by Paul Mitchell:

Shampoo One: A gentle cleaner this shampoo is super gentle and GREAT for everyday use. It even smells like coconuts! Who doesn't like coconuts?!

Shampoo Two: Clarifying cleanser this shampoo is great if you have super oily hair. It is great to use once a week to get out excess oil & build up.

Shampoo Three: A DEEP clarifying cleanser this is great if you have SUPER build up of waxy products and/or  before a chemical color service if your hair just just super dirty.

( note clarifying cleansers will fade color quicker than normal & if you have any other chemicals in your hair that require sulfate free. )

The Wash: A pH balancing moisture shampoo: this is great for getting rid of build up while also adding moisture to your hair.

The Awapuhi Wild Ginger (sulfate free): This is one of my absolute favorite paul mitchell shampoo's it smells AMAZING and it makes the hair feel super soft & shiny. It also has keratin in it which helps calm the hair as well.

Cream Rinse: This is also part of the Wild Ginger Line it is a light weight conditioner which I LOVE as well because I have super fine oily hair and this conditioner is PERFECT because it is not heavy at all.

The Detangler: This is an everyday basic conditioner and if you have thick or knotty hair this will definitely be your best friend it does the trick every time works great on children too.

Lavender Mint Shampoo & Conditioner: This is from the tea tree line and I would recommend this to anyone with DRY hair it smells amazing and definitely does its job by moisturizing the hair.

Those are some of my favorite shampoo & conditioners by Paul Mitchell there are so many more I will get to another day.

Styling Products:

Awapuhi Wild Ginger Treatment Oil: Not only is this product a light weight serum that controls your frizz & fly aways it is also treating the hair with intense keratin as you use it. Now when you hear the word "keratin" dont get confused and scared thinking your putting serious chemicals in your hair that will straighten it. Keratin is really what your hair is made up of it is the protein bond. Formaldehyde is what straightens that hair and that is what differentiates keratin from keratin treatment.

Seal & Shine: Seal and shine is one of the original products this stuff is great I spray it in after every time I was my hair this is a thermal protection spray which goes on the hair wet and protects it from any heat and it gives amazing shine makes the hair really soft.

Sculpting Foam: A conditioning moose that smells like coconuts.  I also apply this product before I blow dry on almost everyone it makes the hair really soft and it smells great!

Super Skinny Serum: This is another serum by Paul Mitchell smells like green apples its a little thicker than the wild ginger and it helps with the fly aways this also goes in wet.

Gloss Drops: Is another anti frizz serum but this serum is a lot thicker than both awaphi wild ginger serum & super skinny serum. This product is applied to dry hair after styling to tame down any extra frizz. This product can be a LIFE SAVER! I would defiantly recommend this product just to have on those hot humid summer days.

Worked Up: A light weight hair spray that smells great its workable is NOT sticky is great for styling.

Hold me Tight: Is also a great spray this is a finishing spray its a good hold but its not a sticky stiff hold.

Extra Body Finishing Spray: Is a firm holding spray works well to keep hair in place.

Avon Product

My next post I will be featuring a product from Avon from the Anew line called 'Genics'. My mother, Eleanor recently started selling Avon again and earlier today I conducted an interview with her about her favorite Avon product.

Anew Genics: This product is from Avons Anew Anti Aging Line. It firms & tightens the skin and with extended use makes the skin look up to 10 years younger. My mother Eleanor has been testing this product out for about 6 months now and she see remarkable results. Based on her results she highly recommends this product. The scent of this product is very soft and suttle and just a small amount applied to the face daily produces remarkable results with continuous use.

This product can be purchased by my mother Eleanor. You contact her by email: Avonladee2@aol.com

Everyday Favorites!

My favorite products that I use almost EVERYDAY! I'll start with my Garnier make up remover towelettes. I have tried many brands and this one seems to work best for my skin I have oily/combination skin and some make up remover towelettes either don't clean my face good enough or leave a weird perfume scent on my face along with a film that just don't make my face feel clean. This product defiantly does the trick! The only CON is that it don't take off mascara as good. This can be purchased at any pharmacy store such as Rite-aid, Walgreen's, Cvs, Duane Read. Even Walmart! Actually from past experience I think Walmart has the best price!

My Next review will be what I wear on my face everyday... Now I find that foundation is just way too heavy for every day use especially for my oily skin. So I decided to go with a tinted moisturizer I've tried many brands and I cant seem to part with my Laura Mercier its the BEST one I've ever tried it gives you that perfectly even coverage with out that HEAVY feeling. Since I have oily skin I purchase the oil-free one it also comes in a normal one as well if you are dry. I also find that when you apply this product with a brush you get better results, you can definitely still use your hands but your hands are full of bacteria and you don't get as much as a flawless look when you use your hands. You can purchase this product at Sephora.com

The brush I use with this product is a flat kabuki by sigma F80 it is a synthetic fiber brush I wash my hands put some of the foundation on the back of my hand and swirl the brush around on my hand and than swirl the brush onto my face until it is blended. You can purchase this brush on sigmabeauty.com

Next product I use would be concealer, I have very dark circles under my eyes so I need some decent coverage my favorite concealers are by MAC I use the studio finish and some times I use the pro longwear it all depends on my mood they're both great products that can be purchased at maccosmetics.com or macys.com  a little tip when purchasing concealer is always go a shade lighter than your skin tone to help brighten your eyes and if you have more green under your eyes go with a NW if you are more purple go with a NC the warmth of the NW will cancel out the green and the NC will cancel out the purple.

Since I have oily skin I like to set my tinted moisturizer with a light mineral powder so I use the MAC mineralize skinfinish I love the light weight coverage it gives you can also use this alone for a natural finish this can also be purchased at maccosmetics.com

My favorite Eye liner is cream eye liner in a pot that you paint on. I feel like it definitely lasts longer and stays in place! I recently came across YSL eye liner effect faux cils its water proof and lasts almost ALL day and DOES NOT RUN!! or DRY out thats one big problem I've had with cream liners they always dry out after a few months! I've had this liner for about 6 months and its still CREAMY! you can purchase this one at sephora.com

I apply this product with a MAC brush its a 209 liner brush it is thin and perfect size and it gives you really good control! this can be purchased at maccosmetics.com

I also always wear bronzer! All year round its nice to have alittle bit of a glow it helps on those pale winter days it helps look people more alive! Not saying that you should blend it all over your face to look like snooki that is just a no no! I like to use bronzer to contour my face. My current favorite is the Urban Decay Baked I've tried the colors baked & gilded so far and loved them both this one can be purchased at macys or urbandecay.com

I  aslo always wear blush! I love MAC blushes because they deliver great pigment and last a long time my favorite blush by MAC is called 'DAME'  this can be purchased at maccosmetics.com

Well, thats all for today! Next time I'll go over some other things like mascara and some new things I have purchased.. I hope you all liked my first real review! =)

A little bit about Me. :)

Hello fellow bloggers! My name is Jessica and I am 23 years old. I am new to the whole blogging experience, I have always had a love and passion for make up. I started loving makeup at the age of 12 years old.. My mother used to sell Avon when I was a child & I remember one day going down into my basement where she had a box of old samples. At this time she had stopped selling Avon for a few years. I found a package of multicolored eyeliner pencils and I remember asking my mom if I could use them she gave me permission. I remember feeling so excited to try something new so I ran into the bathroom and lined my waterline in the black pencil. I loved the results and could not wait to try it the next day for school! Ever since that moment I was obsessed with eyeliner... As the years went on I became more intrigued with trying MORE so I went into my moms makeup bag and started playing with  eye shadows, liquid liners & foundations, blushes etc.. When I had reached the age of 13-14 I remember standing in the mirror before school EVERY morning (running late) getting frustrated with liquid liner trying to line the lids of my eyes perfectly. My 8th grade prom I remember my mother allowed me to get my make up done professionally for the first time in my life and I was soooo excited! I arrived at the salon by my house with a clean face ready and excited couldn't wait to see the results! When I looked in the mirror I was amazed. When I went home and studied everything that the makeup artist had done on my face and I couldn't wait to try it the next day. When the next day had arrived and I remember I had one of those cheap makeup kits. I remembered all the contours and highlighting I had saw on my eyes and did it myself. It came out almost exact. From than on I knew I absolutely loved to do makeup, as each day went on I began to experiment with different things colors shapes and I learned what looked good & bad. I started doing makeup on my friends and wanting to learn everything. By the time high school ended I had already knew what I wanted MAKEUP SCHOOL! So I did some research on my computer and saw we had some cosmetology schools on Staten Island and I thought eh, why not give it a try? So as soon as possible I set up an interview with The Paul Mitchell School. I thought well might as well learn from the best! As soon as I walked into the school I was excited it looked like so much fun every one was nice and welcoming I couldn't wait to start. When I sat down with the admissions leader I had no intentions of doing hair I was looking more into a makeup course. Than the admissions leader had  informed me that it was a cosmetology school and that you would learn everything from hair-makeup and I figured why not give it a try so I took that chance and found out that not only do I love doing makeup.. I enjoy doing color as well! I never really liked hair cutting but I love creative color, styling chemical treatments hair extensions etc. In this field there are so many opportunities! So now today I am a licensed cosmetologist and I currently work in a hair salon in Brooklyn doing everything!  In this blog I will be going over and reviewing some of my favorite beauty/hair products and some new purchases. I hope you all enjoy what I have to say and I hope maybe it will help some of you make the right choices when shopping for some products!

Here is a photograph when I was 15 I was going to a friends sweet 16. I did my own makeup from what I had taught my self and I think I did a pretty good job for a 15 year old.

Here's a picture of me and my friend Amanda I did both of our makeup the same this is when I started playing with different colors.

I think I was like 17 here this was before beauty school again just playing around with my 120 BH cosmetics pallet I had purchased off bhcosmetics.com that I was in LOVE with. Its a great to start with and even if you are a makeup artist and don't want to purchase all those expensive crazy colored name brand shadows these are GREAT! especially with  the right BASE your eye shadow will stay on all night no matter what brand you use.

You can find one of these pallets at bhcosmetics.com

So far my favorite Primers are the Urban Decay primer potion, and MAC paint pots
which can both be purchased here,

http://www.urbandecay.com/ or Sephora.com  they come in a varitey of colors depending on the look and intensity you are going for..

And the MAC paint pots which can be purchased at Maccosmetics.com or Macys.com

I hope my first story & reviews help you for future purchases! My next entry will include my everyday routine and my favorite products! I hope I've helped KIND feed back is definitely appreciated. =)
